Psychomachia is derived from the Latin … it means, roughly, the conflict of the soul, between the spirit and the flesh. Psychomachia Theater is the Theater of the Soul Struggle.

PSYCHOMACHIA THEATER (Teatro de la Psychomachia) located at 1534 1st Ave S. in SoDo Seattle, an art, performance and teaching studio aimed at fostering ritual, avant, spiritual, transgressive and experimental works. To that end, Teatro de la Psychomachia hosts a broad spectrum of musicians and performers who feel driven to push the boundaries and limitations of their art forms. Psychomachia also features a great deal of multidisciplinary collaboration between performers, musicians, and dancers.

The essence of substantial performance is to "be" rather than to "appear"; not to "act" to "become".

Psychomachia Theater advocates the maxim that art and life of relevance can only begin to transcend cultural norms of unearned affirmation and anemic self-congratulation when performers commit to looking inside the hidden recesses of themselves, always seeking out the unknown, the unseen, the break in the self.

Teatro de la Psychomachia is in SoDo area of Seattle, WA., just on the south block of Safeco Field. Entrance is on east side of 1st Ave, Columbia Fire Building.

We are on the second floor of that building

There are plenty of free on street parking along 1st Ave, and Occidental Ave.

For game day at Safeco Field or Qwest Field - event parking near by site is about $10 ~ @25, or extra time to find parking space. You can check Seattle Mariner's schedule and Qwest Field event schedule

• Yoga class:  Sun 11am – 1pm, Wed 7 - 8:30pm.  walk-in welcome
• "Bonsoir Samdi" - monthly salon event with 2 ~ 4 performances on Saturday night
