DAIPANbutoh Collective Fall 2011 Weekend Intensives Workshop Series

DAIPANbutoh Collective presents our Fall 2011 Weekend Intensives Workshop Series, beginning on September 23 with Barbara Bourget of Kokoro (Vancouver BC). This is our most ambitious workshop series yet, encompassing eight weekends and bringing teachers from Japan, Switzerland, and Canada; as well as Portland and Seattle. All weekend intensive workshops will be held at teatro de la Psychomachia, (theatre of the SoulStruggle) a performance and teaching space founded by Danse Perdue in 2010.

Danse Perdue regular Butoh workshop - Monday & Friday

During DAIPANbutoh collective Fall 2011 weekend intensives workshop series, Danse Perdue regular workshop will be held on Tuesday (till October), and then on Monday (November). please check the calendar below!

6:30pm - 9:00pm
at Teatro de la Psychomachia, Seattle WA

Vanessa will be continuing Ankoku Butoh practices Monday and Friday evenings from 6:30-9 p.m. throughout the summer. Mondays will focus on physical training and developing the energy body and its extension and impact. Through partner work and embodied imagery we will seek the dance of the body in crisis: how to become an empathetic bridge for the hidden, the lost, the outcast. Fridays will incorporate our findings along with techniques for more clear and potent improvisations. We hope to have musical accompaniment for these nights and strongly encourage musicians to attend and explore both the physical practice as well as improvising with movement. As a practice of deep listening it is valuable for all forms of expression. Please contact me if you are interested in doing music for any of the practices-- live sound on Mondays would also be welcome and much appreciated.

$15 suggested donation per class. Walk-ins are welcome, and work study arrangements are available. No one turned away for lack of funds.
